Anamosa, IA Beautician, Andrea Politte, to add her Shine to Grammy Stars

The national audience might not know it, but there will be a touch of Iowa on some of those celebrities tonight at the Grammy Awards.

This is a dream come true for Anamosa resi-dent Andrea Politte, 36, who with her husband, Jeff, owns State Beauty Supply, which has stores in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

The Grammys are a long way from Herculaneum, Mo., but this small town, 25 miles south of the Arch, is where Andrea Politte got her start.

Politte, 36, is the master design specialist who for the second year in a row helped stars look their best at the Grammy Awards. Now living in Anamosa, she says her brush with stardom is due to faith, passion and a lot of hard work.

The onetime resident of hang-loose Hawaii wishes the sleeves of the cotton shirt ($42) were longer and the flares on the corduroy pants ($49.50) narrower. "They're a little flamboyant," says Walsh.
